Forager Cycles X Bow Hill Cable "Blueberries"
Farmer Ez aka @bleubcycle believes the bicycle is a human force multiplier, a rideable statement of ethics and an heirloom quality bicycle is a treasure that will live multiple useful lives.
Investment quality bicycle parts, whether made in steel or any other material, are inherently designed for repair and reuse. When sustainability is a guiding principle in an object’s design, the object becomes more than an MVP (minimum viable product). There is no limit to reuse until it’s lost or destroyed.
When he learned that Dan from Forager Cycles had created infinitely reusable, delightfully “extra” anodized aluminum cherries he knew he wanted a pair (or two) on all his bikes. When we asked if we could harvest a special batch of cable "blueberries," Dan graciously collaborated! And midway through this project when our production barn suffered a pretty devastating fire, our Pt. Townsend neighbors at Forager Cycles put together a fundraiser to help with our fire relief over on their website: www.foragercycles.com
About Cable "Blueberries" from Forager Cycles
The Cable “Blueberries” are a 7mm diameter spherical aluminum cable crimp that utilize a set screw to pinch your cable, instead of a crimping tool, pliers, a rock, etc. This makes them serviceable on the trail, reusable, and easier to grab when making tension adjustments to your cables. Handy especially for folks who want ease of adjustment/cable changes, and are running rim brakes or cable actuated discs. Better yet, buy them for your friend who is always running out of crimps and has cable ends that are, well, naked and a-frayed.
-The opening for the cable is 2mm in diameter, and they work equally well with both shifter and brake cables.
-If you're wondering how not to lose the tiny wrench, we suggest taping it to your tire lever of choice!
-Machined from 6061 aluminum, anodized and assembled in the Pacific Northwest.
-Weight: 0.4 g per “blueberry”
-Sold in pairs, includes 1.5mm Bhondus hex key. Patent pending.
